Mainframes are computers that are larger types and the advancement of technology, have become almost extinct.Computers are three types - mainframes, minicomputers and microcomputers. Central computer systems may be called the precursor of the servers, and might actually help users more effectively than many servers. Usually, a main frame occupying an entire room and could cost more than a million.
Used for research, civil engineering, estimates of the time, the graphics and the likes, the mainframe is now Unix, Linux and IBM z / OS, OS/390, MVS, VM, VSE y. Mainframe systems were manufactured extensively throughout 1950 and were sold by IBM, Control Data, General Electric, NCR, UNIVAC, Honeywell, RC, and Burroughs.
